Swim England’s new toolkit to offer ‘accessible’ financial guidance to clubs

Swim England has started work on a new toolkit which will aim to offer ‘accessible’ financial guidance to aquatics clubs. The toolkit is being produced after the ‘Return to Water’ survey revealed that one of the main challenges faced by clubs was financial sustainability. The toolkit will help to equip clubs with the necessary knowledge for them to manage their finances efficiently, as well as support them with the process. The progress of the toolkit will be documented with updates from Swim England, with a view of officially launching the resource in spring 2022.

Sport England £20m Together Fund

A further £20 million of National Lottery funding is being made available to help tackle inequalities in physical activity levels as the nation continues its recovery from the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Last year, as part of our initial response to the crisis, we launched the £20m Tackling Inequalities Fund (TIF) that focused on lower socio-economic groups, culturally diverse communities, disabled people and those with long-term health conditions. Now, a further £20m will be spent on helping the same audiences to become active or get more active as TIF becomes the Together Fund. Funds available to help clubs and organisations:

We know how difficult the new national restrictions are making it for sports clubs and physical activity organisations. Sport England has a number funding opportunities for those who’ve been affected by the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis. Last week, they reopened their Return to Play: Small Grants fund, which was paused for a few days so it could refocus on helping those who deliver sport and physical activity through the additional challenges that this period of national restrictions brings. Two other coronavirus-related funds, Return to Play: Community Asset Fund and Return to Play: Active Together, are also open for applications.
