East Midland Amateur Swimming Association (EMASA) has been awarded £300 from The Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme towards the cost of providing subsidised lessons to promote and encourage people of all ages to start swimming.

EMASA Fundraising Officer, Tim Barzycki says, 'the award will be of enormous benefit. We are very grateful to The Mansfield Building Society for their help.  We work hard at encouraging people to swim because of the undoubted health benefits. We also support with all aspects of swimming including diving, synchronised swimming and water polo.’

The award was made by The Mansfield’s product manager Pete Doherty.

We are delighted to help. The EMASA provides a tremendous service to the community by encouraging everyone to learn to swim and improving quality of life in the process. We wish them every success with their activities.

The project will be carried out with support from Barnsley Premier Leisure who manage the pools in Bassetlaw.
