Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Nottingham City Council is offering free swimming lessons to city residents aged over 50 at three of its pools

Nottingham City Council is offering FREE swimming lessons to city residents aged over 50 at three of its pools.The courses, which start this month, are funded and delivered in partnership with Age UK Fit as a Fiddle Programme.

The lesson blocks are available from the following dates:

Thursday, May 12, 6pm-6.45pm, Beechdale Swimming Centre.
Friday, May 13, 3pm-4pm, Beechdale Swimming Centre.
Saturday, May 14, 8.15am- 9am, Portland Leisure Centre, The Meadows.
Wednesday, May 18, 3pm-3.45pm, Ken Martin Leisure Centre, Bulwell.

Places must be booked in advance by calling 0115 915 2740.

Those wishing to take part will need a valid Citycard. Anyone who has already had free lessons will not be eligible.
