The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Sophie and Molly compete for GB in France

Former City of Leicester swimmer Sophie Smith and Derventio eXcel’s Molly Renshaw competed for the Great Britain senior team at the European Short Course Swimming Championships last weekend.

Smith, who moved to Loughborough ITC in September to train and study at the University, set a personal best 1:00.47 as she reached the 100m Individual Medley, eventually finishing fifth in her first senior international final.

The 18-year old also reached the 100m Butterfly semi-finals where she finished 15th and set the eighth fastest time in the 200m Individual Medley heats.

Competing at her third senior international championships, Renshaw finished 10th in the 200m Breaststroke as well as setting PBs in the 200m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke.
