The field for the men’s 10m Synchro may be small but the battle for gold could be one of the most enthralling of the competition.

- Jose Guerra and Jeinkler Aguirre (Cuba)
- Ivan Garcia and German Sanchez (Mexico)
- Victor Minibaev and Artem Chesakov (Russia)
With China’s gold-medal pairing from the opening two legs of this year’s World Series, Lin Yue and Chen Aisen, absent from Edinburgh, the door is open for a different nation to take the top honours.
Russia’s new pairing of Victor Minibaev and Artem Chesakov have started the season strongly, scoring 439.65 for silver at the opening leg in Beijing then 444.12 for the same result at the second leg in Dubai.
Having competed at the opening two legs of the World Series with teenage newcomer Adan Zuniga, Mexico’s Ivan Garcia will resume his partnership with German Sanchez in Edinburgh.
The pair have fond memories of competing on British shores, having won silver at both the FINA World Cup and London 2012 Olympic Games at London Aquatics Centre last season.
They also know what it takes to win at World Series level, their only 10m Synchro gold coming from the Guanajuato leg of the 2011 World Series.
Completing the line-up is another world class partnership in the form of Cuba’s Jose Guerra and Jeinkler Aguirre.
While they only have one bronze to their name from this season (Dubai), the pair won gold at the Moscow leg of the 2011 World Series and are World Championship bronze medallists from 2009.
