During a recent GB Synchronised Swimming Camp in Bristol - Talent Development Officer Karen Thorpe organised BBC Television to be attendance to watch the girls in action and for the Blue Peter presenters to “have a go” at synchronised swimming.

As the GB Senior squad are competing at the European Games in Baku it was the younger members of the GB squad who were tasked in getting the Blue Presenters “upto scratch”.

Greta Hampson, one of the North West Region synchro swimmers was in attendance and was presented with a BLUE PETER BADGE.

Here is a little bit of information about Greta's progress through the sport.

14 year old Greta Hampson, who took up the sport at 10 years of age with Southport SC, (whilst still training competitively with Wigan BEST) and has progressed through the skill levels 1 - 5 and subsequently then went onto win medals at the Synchro Nationals and was selected for England Talent Development.

In 2014 she joined City of Salford Synchro Club and has continued to progress in the sport.

Since Synchro Funding was cut Greta now has to travel to Guildford every saturday for "specialised" training.

Greta has also been selected for the England Age Group (13 - 15 years) squad.
