Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Disability Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Aquaforce Volunteer Awards

Every year the ASA uses the Aquaforce Awards as a chance to thank those who dedicate vital hours, days and weeks to our sport. This year, could it be you or your club that are honoured?

Nominations opened on the 1 June, marking the start of National Volunteering Week, and close on 15 July. Everyone and anyone can nominate an ASA volunteer for an award.

The 2013 awards will be given in seven different categories, please click on each category on the attached link to view the selection and eligibility criteria and to download the nomination form:

 Regional winners will be shortlisted for the National Aquaforce Awards. National winners will be announced at the ASA Council Dinner in October.

A National Winner only will be selected for the Club Award.  Representatives from the winning club will be invited to attend the Council Dinner to receive this prestigious award. For the first time in 2013, ‘Celebrating Excellence in Club Volunteering’ will offer the opportunity for club’s to self nominate.

For all nominations:

  • The nominated group/individual must be a member of the ASA and belong to an ASA club which is swim21 accredited or working towards.
  • The individual must still be acting in the role for which he/she is being nominated for ;  individuals who receive payment in return for their services will not be eligible.
  • All nominated volunteers will receive a limited edition Aquaforce Volunteers Pin Badge on the provision that an address is provided.  
  • Regional and National Winners will be selected only from the information provided in the nomination form, we therefore would encourage nominators to provide as much detail as possible. 

 

The Regional Winners will be invited to an Aquaforce Presentation Lunch to take place on Saturday 14th September at the Park Inn, Sale Way, Leigh.
