Coach Mentoring Scheme
The North West region offers new coaches a chance to make the most of the experienced coaches in the region by joining the free Coach Mentoring Scheme.
The scheme is designed to help new and existing coaches gain experience and receive feedback from experienced regional coaches. Successful applicants are required to observe their mentor for 3 sessions, and then their mentor will observe the applicant for 3 sessions giving feedback to help improve coaching, additional sessions can be organised between the mentor and applicant if it is felt they are necessary.
People applying for the scheme do not need to have a background in diving or have a diving qualification; they need simply to want to gain experience and mentoring while working toward their qualifications. The scheme is also open to qualified coaches who are looking to work with higher-level coaches to improve their coaching abilities. Anyone wishing to make the most of the free mentoring scheme can apply by getting a form from the diving manager, Ellie Ward – elliewarddiving@hotmail.co.uk
There are currently 3 mentors on the scheme:
| Richard Ward | Fully Level 2 qualified, working towards Level 3 qualification, North West Development Squad Coach and Bury Dragons Diving Club Head Coach |
| Ellie Ward | Fully Level 2 qualified, North West Diving Manager and Coach at Bury Dragons Diving Club |
| Janet Ward | Fully Level 2 qualified, Assistant Head Coach at Bury Dragons Diving Club |
The scheme is looking for more regional mentors; qualified regional coaches can apply to be a mentor by filling in an application for available from the Diving Manager, Ellie Ward – elliewardivingdiving@hotmail.co.uk
