Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Disability Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

The minimum age for participation is currently Age on day at Nationals - 11 Years Old [Female] or 12 Years Old [Male] and ideally be a minimum standard of county qualifier in the 400, 800 or 1500 events.  If you do not meet this criteria but wish to compete then forward a brief overview of your training programme and competition times to Diane.Stafford@swimming.org or discuss your suitability to participate with John Stout.  All coaches are welcome, if you wish to get involved please contact John.

The event will incorporate Mass Participation events of 500 metre and 2000 metre and the ASA North West Region Age Group Championship event of 1500 metres; 2000 metres and 3000 metres.

NB – in the Interests of Safety - All athletes who wish to enter the OW Championships or attend a training session must have attended a Safety Presentation & Taster Session unless you can prove that you have previous open water experience in competition.
