The Swim England North West Winter Championships will be held at Manchester Aquatic Centre on 4th and 5th November 2017.
As these championships will be the qualifiers for the British Championships in December - these championships will be held Long Course inaccordance with guidelines from Swim England
The date for the these championships has been announced:-

Date: 23rd September 2017
Closing date: 2nd September
There will be a physical classification opportunity available at this competition. Swimmers wishing to be considered for classification are asked to submit their entries before the 12th August.

RE – Fina Guidelines on Open Water Temperatures & Wetsuits
The updated terms and conditions for the Open Water Championships and Festival have been agreed and are now available to download. Due to new guidelines from Fina and also expected temperatures at Salford Quays, there is a reasonable probability that wetsuits may be required for the Open Water Championship events on June 24th.

Athletes from the North West Region are amongst a 29 strong British Swimming team that has been selected to compete at this summer’s FINA World Championships in Budapest.
Swim England North West in line with Swim England Talent Program is to clearly define, align and generate a cohesive pathway within our sport whilst effectively developing and supporting the ‘team’ of :-
Coaches, Team Managers, Sports Science/Medicine Practitioners and Parents/Guardians who in turn develop and support swimmers.
During 2017 there are a number of opportunities for individuals to get involved in in the programmes that are on offer
Great Swim in association with British Swimming present an exiting new open water race series for 2017.
The Great Britain Open Water Elite Series will consist of 4 races over a variety of distances across the summer with overall series cash prizes awarded to the Top 3 male and female athletes and additional prizes in the form of exclusive sponsor product for 4th and 5th placed athletes.
The overall male and female winners will also be invited to attend a British Swimming Open Water program activity with members of the national team
