North West Academy Girls win the 2012 Inter Regional Academy Girl’s’ Water Polo Championships

North West Academy B team girls won the 2012 Inter Regional Academy Girl’s’ Water Polo Championships this weekend at Walsal Gala Baths.

North West A went through as the top team in their group after winning all their games; 18 – 2 against East Midlands, 12 – 2 against Scotland and 9 – 8 against London.

North West B came second in their group after a good win against Ireland 5 – 0, a loss against South East 5 – 7 and a 16 – 1 win over Wales.

This meant the North West A and B team had to take on each other in the semi final. It was a close game but North West B best their A team 8 – 6.

North West B made it to the finals against South East who they took on the day before and lost out by two goals. North West B were determined not to lose again and they had 10 – 6 victory over South East.

North West A came up against London for the third place play off after just beating them by a goal the day before the game could of been anyone’s but North West managed to keep a lead and beat them by one goal again
