British Gas and Carat honoured at Campaign Media Awards

British Gas and British Swimming capped a successful 2010 by scooping the most prestigious media award of the year at the Campaign Media Awards.
British Gas Swimming for Carat beat the likes of O2, Santander, EDF and Diageo to lift the Media Campaign of the Year.
The sponsorship and promotional campaign was described as creating a long-term commitment to swimming and was praised for a adapting to engage its target audience of families.
The campaign also lifted the Corporate, Financial and Utilities award and was commended in the Total Communications Programme category.
British Gas signed a six-year sponsorship deal with British Swimming in August March with double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington named British Gas ambassador.
British Gas – and communications agency Carat – have gone from strength to strength since signing the deal, becoming a major force behind the Great Swim Series as well as Pools 4 Schools, the National Plan for Teaching Swimming and Swimfit.
