In March 2009 British Gas and Swimming became partners. Swimming is the biggest participation sport in the UK and British Gas customers love to swim! No other sport is as universal as whatever your age, background or ability, everyone can learn to swim. We have focussed on this breadth in our partnership with our sponsorship of the Swimming, Disability, Synchronised, Water Polo, Open Water and Diving teams. We have also launched Pools 4 Schools and partnered on the official Learn to Swim initiative to teach children to swim as well as giving away Free Family Swims to our customers. We are investing in saving pools along with the ASA and have launched a powerful swimming support website – Swimfit to get more people in the water. Together with British Swimming we are powering a nation of smiling swimming champions at every level and love being part of such a fantastic sport.
