The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Robert Margetts

Robert Margetts has been a member of the ASA Committee/Board since February 2003 and is now leading the Strategic Development Group for Learn to Swim. His swimming career started as a Youth playing Water Polo for Devon County Juniors and swimming for ESSA Division 13.

Kay Grimshaw

Kay, although taking part in many sports, concentrated on athletics in her youth and competed in the Olympic Trials for the high jump. The only swimming Kay had ever done was at school and she did not become involved in the sport of swimming until she married.
