Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

ASA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Aquatics (QCF) - Wales

This qualification is aimed at those interested in the teaching programme in a learn to swim environment utilising the British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Framework (or equivalent scheme).
Once qualified the holder of the ASA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Aquatics (QCF) will be equipped to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of consecutive sessions within the context of a self prepared scheme of work.

Prerequisites:

Learners must be at least 17 years of age at the commencement of the learning programme.
Learners must be holders of either:
o ASA Level 1 Award in Teaching Aquatics (QCF) - January 2011 onwards
o ASA UKCC Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics - 2006-2010
o Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Swimming post 2002
o ASA Assistant Teacher Certificate (teaching aquatics) post Sept 1994
o NCTP Module 1 and 2 & QTS/HLTA status
It is also recommended learners hold a valid CRB Certificate
