I owe my parents…
a great deal. They had me later in life than most. I have a younger brother as well and I think Michael and I were sometimes a bit of a trial for them. But they encouraged us both and instilled some good values in us. I can remember going on holiday to Bournemouth. We were on the beach and annoying Mum and Dad and some woman in a deckchair said: ‘You shouldn’t annoy your grandparents in that way.’ We thought that was very funny.
