The ASA’s Facilities Team
The ASA’s Facilities team is part of English Programmes Department and is responsible for ensuring that swimming pools in England are designed and built “fit for purpose”.
The experienced Facilities Team provide information and advice to the industry, whether professional or voluntary, on all design and management issues related to swimming pools and facilities.
The team provides a wide range of advice documents on swimming pool design, operational issues, energy efficiency and health & safety matters. A section on Frequently Asked Questions also provides background information on some of the more contentious issues related to swimming pool operation.
However, it is recommended that planners, designers and operational workers contact the Facilities Team to discuss their projects and issues, or in the event of being unsure in interpreting the information documents meaning, as the advice documents cannot provide comprehensive specific detail.
