Update for learn to swim providers
Read on for all the latest news specifically for the benefit of swimming providers delivering learn to swim programmes.
Implementing the ASA Learn to Swim Framework
Many centres have been implementing the LTS Framework for over a year now, so it could be the perfect time to take a step back, review what is happening and improve implementation. Take our LTS quick challenge here and see what you can do to improve in the next few weeks… you don’t have to be in charge of a programme but perhaps these are things you can raise at your next teachers meeting?
Resources and Tools
The ASA's LTS Games and Resource Pack is a pack of 70 laminated games cards to assist with LTS delivery, an introduction on how to use the pack and a CD ROM of the games. To order your pack click here.
A Continuing Professional Development seminar to support the Games Pack will also be available soon, if you are interested in running this CPD, please contact your Aquatic Officer (click here for contact details).
We are continually looking to update our resources for our customers. This year we are hoping to further develop the Aquatic Programmers pack and include additional inserts for all customers with more user friendly inserts to help you manage your programme. Watch this space.
Your Frequently Asked Questions
As many of you are now implementing the plan we are continually identifying areas you would like more support with. We have added frequently asked questions (FAQ’s) here. One of the most popular questions seems to be around how to keep swimmers motivated if they seem to struggle to achieve all the outcomes in a stage of the plan. If you have a question that is not on the website please e-mail npts@swimming.org and we will add any common queries to the site to help others.
Regional Conferences
Bookings are now open for the first conference in your region completely dedicated to the needs of the aquatic workforce.
This exciting series of conferences offer teachers, coaches, volunteers and tutors the chance to hear motivational speakers and each conference has specific strands and workshops. More details on each regional conference will be provided as soon as they are available. Please click here for more information.
