The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Deadline for entries for open water Age, Youth and Masters Champs

Entries for the British Gas ASA Open Water National Age, Youth and Masters Champs will close on Tuesday 1 July

Taking place in Rother Valley Country Park, the National Age Group and Youth Open Water Championships sees the nation’s youngest open water stars take to the water in allocated age groups. This is the flagship open water age group event for the future of open water swimming in the country. The Youth Championships will take place on Sunday 3 August while the Age Group Championships will take place the following day.

The British Gas ASA 3km Open Water Masters Championships is the calendar highlight for the open water masters swimmer and the only opportunity for masters to compete on the national stage, with one 3km race being held on Sunday 3 August.
