Brand new resource available for identifying disability swimmers

29 August 2012

British Disability Swimming are launching a brand new Disability Swimmer ID Toolkit to help identify the potential of swimmers with a disability and their ability level, in order to signpost them to the best opportunities for their development. It also illustrates the Disability Swimming Pathway available from grassroots through to performance.

John Atkinson, National Performance Director, British Disability Swimming said

“British Disability Swimming believe this ‘Swimmer ID Toolkit’ is a valuable resource for use in identifying the ability level of swimmers, identifying those with potential talent and then helping to signpost them to opportunities available for them to progress towards a performance stage. By offering support and guidance that outlines the key factors in ability we hope that teachers, coaches and swimming co-ordinators will be better equipped to understand what constitutes a talented disability swimmer”.
