1,300 children benefit from LTS in North Warwickshire
North Warwickshire Borough Council is the latest organisation to implement the British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Programme (LTS) alongside the Kellogg’s ASA Award Scheme at their leisure complex in Atherstone.
The one year rolling agreement to use the ASA LTS, a template for learn to swim schemes, means the council will use the highest quality syllabus and awards system. The plan is a comprehensive and progressive teaching programme based upon sound technical and educational principles.
Atherstone Leisure Complex was refurbished in 2002, and has provided a ‘beginnners to swimmers’ learn to swim programme for its customers for many years. It was recently awarded swim21 accreditation, the ASA’s quality seal of approval for local authorities, swim schools and leisure operators.
Claire Lodge, Centre Manager at Atherstone Leisure Complex said, “Working in partnership with the ASA allows us to ensure that we are delivering a high standard of swimming tuition to our local community, validated by our recent achievement of swim21 accreditation. We have over 1300 children learning to swim with us every week, all following the ASA NPTS and Kellogg’s ASA Awards Scheme.”
