New learn to swim resources

23 October 2012

New ASA learn to swim resources will be available to order from 1st November, to support the provision of the British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway.

Already the most successful sports programme of its kind, the British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway is a refreshed version of the National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS).  Centres using the existing NPTS can continue to do so, as the outcomes and recommendations around delivery style have not changed.

Simplified into four Frameworks, the Pathway includes the brand new ASA Adult Swimming Framework for adults looking to learn or improve their skills in the pool, as well as Frameworks for Foundation, Learn to Swim and Aquatic Skills.

The resources will be available to order from the online Awards Centre from 1st November 2012.  These include resources for each of the Frameworks, a Parents Guide, Teachers Toolkit and Games Pack.

The new resources and refreshed programme will provide a great opportunity for learn to swim providers to attract new customers to their learn to swim schemes, including attracting adults to the pool, not just to learn to swim but to improve their swimming.
