On average one person drowns in the UK every 17 hours and drowning is the third highest cause of accidental death among children, with more than half of incidents happening at rivers, lakes, canals and reservoirs. Give young people in your area the chance to learn about the dangers posed by open water by holding a special ‘Get Safe’ event.

Innovative new partnership to help fund community swimming groups

A brand new partnership has been set up to provide a grant scheme with a focus on community participation in swimming over the next four years. The agreement brings together the knowledge and experience of the Swimming Trust and the ASA, the National Governing Body for Swimming, to manage the funding of community swimming programmes for the Swimathon Foundation.
