Sky Sports News ‘Get Involved’ in Synchronised Swimming
17 February 2012
Tomorrow (Saturday 18 February), a ‘Get Involved’ feature on Sky Sports News will take an in-depth look into the world of synchronised swimming, with the help of the Reading Royals Synchronised Swimming Club.
Using underwater cameras the programme will delve into all aspects of the sport – from training to performance – and give viewers the inside track on what it takes to participate in this fun, challenging activity.
Synchronised swimming is an exciting mixture of swimming, dance and gymnastics, which is suited to people of all ages who would like to improve their fitness, flexibility and body tone.
Swimmers perform a synchronised routine of elaborate moves in the water and must demonstrate advanced water skills, great strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry, precise timing and exceptional breath control when upside down underwater.
