Dubai Sports City Swimming Academy has signed a partnership agreement with the ASA to deliver the ASA’s National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) and the Kellogg’s ASA Awards Scheme.

This partnership adds to the family of Dubai Sports City Academies which already deliver accredited development pathways and coaching education opportunities, and will ensure that Dubai is at the forefront of all the aquatic disciplines.

The Swimming Academy will deliver learn to swim programmes and development coaching courses to swimmers of all ages and levels across the United Arab Emirates.

“These strategic partnerships underpin the basis of our delivery philosophy and ensure a unique experience for those within all of our coaching programmes,” says Jeff O’Brien, Academies Manager.

Seth Chappels, Swimming Academy Manager said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the ASA, who have built an outstanding reputation as the English National Governing Body for swimming, and their knowledge and experience will add considerable value to  the courses at the Dubai Sports City Swimming Academy.

“One of our key goals is to broaden the involvement of swimming within the community by offering a wide range of programmes through education and swimmer development in a state-of-the-art facility with accredited ASA coaches and teachers, which will cater to every level of age and ability.”

Dubai Sports City Swimming Academy will be offering a number of courses to improve water safety awareness, movement skills and basic swimming skills in young swimmers, ensuring children are water-safe and have the opportunity to develop as athletes through the swim programmes.

Bruce Learner, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Kellogg’s said: “Since our partnership with the ASA began in 1997, more than 13 million swimming awards have been presented to youngsters across the country, making it the most successful awards scheme in British sport. We will be celebrating this success at the Kellogg’s Swimtastic Awards in October, with recognises those pool based projects that benefit the community the most.”
