Workshop Focus: Online Membership System

26 September 2011

With just over a month until the ASA Swimming Conference 2011, each week we are going to take a closer look at the workshops that have been designed to inspire you with forward thinking and give you a fresh perspective on your club activities, with the ultimate aim of helping you make your club fit for the future.

Booking is now open for the ASA Swimming Conference 2011, which is set to take place on Saturday 22 October at the Crowne Plaza, Nottingham.

The conference will incorporate a full day’s programme with keynote guest speakers, David Sparkes (Chief Executive of the ASA) and Sir Keith Mills (Deputy Chair of LOCOG), and a ‘Communication Zone’ where you will be able to speak to ASA staff about matters that concern you and your club.

In addition to the conference programme, there is the opportunity to attend two workshops, which include:

  • Grow your swimming club: how to transform your swimming club and make it vibrant, visible and viable
  • Shaping your future with the IoS
  • Big Splash and beyond
  • Developing young leaders
  • ASA 2013-2017 strategy
  • Young volunteers: you are the future!
  • Online membership system
  • swim21: shaping the future
  • The swimmers journey: maximise results from your Learn to Swim programme to retain more swimmers

This week we are going to take a closer look at the ‘Online Membership System’ which will be delivered by Rachel Washington, Head of Administration and Compliance.

This workshop will provide information about the Online Membership System, a flexible customised online system for membership applications and renewals being launched by the ASA and Swim Wales.

The session will provide details about how the system works, how the ASA envisage it being used, and the key dates until the go live date in January 2012. Most importantly it will provide attendees with the opportunity to have a go on the system.

All attendees will learn how to log in to the system, what the system can do for the club and how it will be utilised in the membership process for maintaining current members, adding new members and processing members through the renewals process.

The team will also be advising of special regional workshops which will provide full training on the new system, for more information click here.
