New Industry Requirement - Level 1 Award in Teaching Aquatics (QCF)

From January 2014 it will be an industry requirement for all those entering the profession for the first time to achieve a Level 1 Award in Teaching Aquatics (QCF) qualification before progressing to the new Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Aquatics (QCF) qualification.

This is already the requirement for those completing an ASA Level 2 qualification.  However from January it will become industry entry standard regardless of what awarding organisation the Level 2 qualification is achieved with, and will be a requirement of the new  Register of Aquatics Professionals (RAPs).

RAPs was created by SkillsActive in conjunction with the ASA, RLSS UK and the STA to provide a system of regulation to ensure that individuals working in the aquatic industry meet agreed National Occupational Standards (NOS) and best practice guidelines.

The ASA Awarding Body is currently the only awarding organisation to award the Level 1 Award in Teaching Aquatics.
