Kellogg’s Swim Active Grants aim to fund more projects

01 April 2012

The last two rounds of the Kellogg’s Swim Active grants focused heavily on increasing community swimming in areas of social deprivation.

Through the Kellogg’s Swim Active fund Kellogg’s were able to direct more than £140,000 into community swimming across 19 projects.  While it is fantastic to offer support to these wonderful projects across the country both Kellogg’s and the ASA were not happy that investment was only able to be given to 5% of the total number of applications received. In light of this information the decision has been taken to narrow the application criteria to avoid applicants wasting their time on submissions. In order to allow applicants more time to prepare their submission in light of these changes the opening date for applications for this round of Kellogg’s Swim Active Grants will be postponed until 1 May 2012.

The level of demand for grants has been exceptional with a heavy focus on applications around school swimming. With this in mind the application criteria has been narrowed down to focus on learn to swim projects
