The number of clubs receiving swim21 status continues to soar

Jan 20 2011

The number of clubs securing swim21 accreditation – the ASA’s ‘Quality Mark’ – is continuing to soar, with nearly 500 clubs now on board.

At the latest panel meeting, 26 new accreditations were awarded – 24 for swimming and two for water polo.  This means there are now 492 accredited Clubs across England, sharing 634 accreditations between them.

The panel was also able to re-accredit 19 clubs for another four years, and confirm three clubs had added additional levels to their reaccreditation.

“There is a great deal of hard work involved in getting swim21 accreditation and it is a real credit to the club’s committee and staff that they have managed to achieve such high standards," David Sparkes, the ASA’s Chief Executive.

"They are leading by example and deserve many congratulations. But swim21 accreditation is not just a badge of honour that has to be achieved every four years. It will provide the club with a development tool that allows athletes, teachers, coaches and administrators to continually improve and reach their full potential.”
