SWIM4LIFE COMPETITION
05 Aug 2009
With the summer holidays now underway, Change4Life - the government campaign to encourage people to move more and eat better - has launched a competition as part of their Swim4Life activity, asking children to design a new swimming stroke to win a prize for them and their family.
All families need to do is get their kids in the pool trying out new ways to swim. There's no limit on how creative kids can be with their stroke, as long as it's fun, easy to do and keeps them active.
Once kids have come up with their idea they need to send in a few words describing the new stroke, a name for it and a drawing or photo that helped inspired the creation of the stroke - for example of an image of animal or fish that they copied.
To enter online send entries (along with name, address and a contact telephone number) to competition@swim4life.org.uk or send postal entries to: Swim4Life Competition, PO Box 2656, London, W1A 3RR. Closing date for entries is the 17th August.
The winner will receive a great holiday to Alton Towers Water Park for two adults and four children. As well as entrance to the park, the prize also includes 2 days hire of a 7 seater vehicle including petrol allowance, overnight accommodation and spending money.
The competition will be promoted nationwide with the winner being announced in September by Health Secretary Andy Burnham.
