7 September 2011

Young people and volunteers who wish to assist on poolside can now undertake a new ASA qualification, appropriate for any aquatic environment.

An updated version which is now more suitable and accessible for volunteers in clubs, the ASA helpers certificate will provide an introduction to teaching and coaching as well as how to help a more senior coach or teacher and to be safe on poolside.

Consisting of three hours in the classroom and three hours practical work, the helpers can practice what they have learnt during the course schedule.

For more information volunteers and young people should contact Francesca Kelly Francesca.kelly@swimming.org and for more details about the qualification content and development, contact Colin Huffen at colin.huffen@swimming.org
