Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

ASA announce new Event Volunteer Programme

The ASA and British Swimming have announced a new Event Volunteer Programme (EVP) for 2013 / 2014 designed to develop volunteers for our event management roles across the disciplines to ensure we have the highest quality people delivering our events throughout the UK.

Click here to head to our online application page.The programme involves two face-to-face training days, two online training modules, and event placements at a minimum of two national events.

Each candidate will be assigned a mentor to guide and support them through the programme, passing on vital knowledge and facilitating development.

The roles candidates will undertake whilst on the programme will vary between placements but we will try and give each candidate one placement in their preferred role.

There are many different event roles, so take a look through the role descriptions below to help you understand what each role entails.

There are 20 candidate spots up for grabs, and we are looking for individuals who are positive, enthusiastic and can think on their feet.

Events are fast paced and there is always lots going on, so we will select those who thrive in this environment and who are able to make quick decisions and solve problems.

To be a part of the programme you must be available for the following dates:

16th & 17th November 2013 Selection Days
25th January 2014 Induction and Training Day 1
14th June 2014 (TBC) Training Day 2

In addition to the above you will have one placement at an event between January - May 2014, and another between June - September 2014.
