4 October 2013

Celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2013, the BBC Unsung Hero awards recognise the remarkable achievements of people from all across the UK.

The BBC Unsung Hero awards celebrate those who volunteer their time, expertise and energy to helping grassroots sport flourish. Unsung heroes devote large parts of their lives to inspiring sports clubs and individuals across the UK. They make it happen for no reward other than the satisfaction from helping make their sport better, in many cases, their clubs and even their buildings would not exist were it not for their hard work.

The hunt to find our 2013 Unsung Heroes is now on and nominations wil close on 16th October. 15 nominees will be shortlisted and the overall winner will be announced at BBC Sports Personality of the Year in Leeds on Sunday 15th December.
