Are you aged 16-25 and passionate about empowering young people to have a voice within sport?

The Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) is the National Governing Body for the sport within England, and is committed to protecting and improving aquatics for everyone involved.

The National Volunteer Youth Forum, co-ordinated by the Volunteer Engagement Team is now recruiting!

The National Youth Forum are a group of proactive volunteers who support the ASA to look at ways of encouraging young volunteers to become involved in all aspects of aquatic sport, but also ways to keep them actively involved.

The Youth Forum led by the Youth Forum Chair and supported by the Volunteer Co-ordinator aims to create a network of young people within aquatics.

The group will meet four times throughout the year; meetings will be led by the Youth Forum Chair, vice Chair and Secretary with support from ASA staff. The group will be consulted on issues that impact young people and will be asked to provide a youth perspective on specific departmental programmes. The Youth Forum members will be provided with the necessary training and support to allow them to effectively fulfil their roles.

The ASA is looking to appoint six new National Youth Forum members, including the recruitment of a Chair, vice Chair and Secretary. By clicking on each of the positions below you can download the role description along with the selection criteria:

Please note that applicants may apply for more than one of the positions above.

If you are enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate about sport then this could be the role for you! This is a unique opportunity for volunteers to work alongside the ASA and current Youth Forum members to understand and influence how as an organisation young people are supported.

Youth Forum members will have the opportunity to personally develop skills for their CV through the support of the ASA Volunteer Engagement Team, and will be involved in decision making processes which will directly influence ASA programmes and initiatives.

Please ensure that you have read and agree to the Youth Forum Terms of Reference, application forms can be downloaded here. Please ensure you complete the application form as honestly and openly as possible, the application deadline is the 16th December.
