In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Time running out to nominate for the Aquaforce Volunteer Awards 2010

If you know someone who works tirelessly to support swimming, diving, synchro or water polo in your area you don’t have long left to nominate them for an Aquaforce Volunteer Award. Tthe closing date for nominations is Thursday 1st July 2010.

The Aquaforce Volunteer awards recognise the vital contribution that volunteers make to aquatic sport at all levels. Awards are given in five categories:

  • Outstanding contribution at club level     
  • Outstanding contribution at county/regional level 
  • Long Service Award (25 years or more)                 
  • Young Volunteer - under 18 years
  • Outstanding contribution by an 18 to 25-year-old

Regional winners will be invited to attend the ASA National Gala Dinner which takes place in Loughborough on the evening of 23rd October 2010.
