South West Funding Opportunities
Details of funding opportunities available in the South West
ASA SW/County Bursary Scheme
Who can access it? Volunteers from swim21 clubs.
Which qualifications does it cover? Levels 1-3.
How much is it for? Up to £100 for Level 1, up to £200 for Level 2 and up to £400 for Level 3.
How do I apply? Request an application pack from the regional office on 01452 396615 or leanne.douglas@swimming.org. Complete and submit the application, successfully complete the course and provide evidence of payment and certification to receive bursary award.
West of England Coach Bursary
Who can access it? Bristol, Bath, North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire Level 1 coaches looking to upskill to Level 2 who coach for 3 hours + per week.
Which qualifications does it cover? Level 2 only.
How much is it for? 50% of Level 2.
How do I apply? Visit website link here. Phase 1 - online application assessed by coach development group. Phase 2 - Club/coach visit by Coach Development Manager - bursary awarded at this stage. Phase 3 - follow up visit and media/press release. All applicants to make it through Phase 1 will receive a free place at next club development day. Applications are taken every 3 months and bursaries paid on successful completion of the course.
North Somerset Coach Bursary Scheme
Who can access it? North Somerset voluntary coaches.
How much is it for? Either 50% or 100% depending on course costs in return for one hour volunteering per £10 awarded. Available until 26 February 2010.
How do I apply? Apply via Sport and Active Lifestyles Team on 01275 812057 or lisa.perryman@n-somerset.gov.uk.
Wiltshire and Swindon Sports Partnership Coach Bursaries
Who can access it? Anyone wanting to gain a qualification in sports coaching. Must be resident in Wiltshire and be coaching within the county.
How do I apply? Contact for further information on courses and level of funding. Apply via Dominique Oughton, coaching development manager on dominiqueoughton@wiltshire.gov.uk or 07917 030946.
Sports and Recreational Grant Aid
Who can access it? Member of a non-profit making sports club within City of Plymouth.
How much is it for? Contact for further information on courses and level of funding. The scheme is to provide assistance and fund activities in their entirety.
How do I apply? Visit the website link here. Contact Sports Development Unit on 01752 307008 or email sportsdevelopment@plymouth.gov.uk. All grant applications will be considered by the Grants Committee meetings take place in March, June, September, December each year.
