STEP 2 – How do I apply for an officials course?
There are various swimming official roles that you may be interested in.
Please select the officiating qualification you would like to apply for:
Timekeeper
As an individual - If you would like to apply for a Timekeeper course as an individual, you will need to contact your Technical Officials Regional Co-ordinator whose details can be found on the Young Officials contacts section. They will find a course that is running in your area for you to attend.
As a club or group - You will need to fill out an application form which can be located on the British Swimming Officials website and return the form to your Technical Officials Regional Co-ordinator who will arrange for a tutor to come and deliver the course.
Judge Level 1/Judge Level 2/Starter
To apply for your Judge Level 1, 2 or Starter officiating course, you will need to fill out the application form that can be found on the British Swimming Officials website and return it to your Regional Technical Officials Co-ordinator. The cost of the course will be £8 which you will need to send along with your application form.
Referee
Application forms must be submitted by the 31st December in order for you to be entered into the theory examination for the November of the following year. The cost of the course will be £10.00 which you will need to send with your application form.
