In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Young Official Ben Jelley tells us about his officiating experiences.

Role: Referee

Starting as a Time Keeper at the age of sixteen Ben is now viewed as an experienced young official. Through volunteering and officiating he has been lucky enough to be involved in a number of national events including 4 UK School Games, the ASA Youth Championship and the International Children’s Games. His words of wisdom to other young people wanting to get involved in volunteering are to ‘stay up to date with what is going on within the swimming community and make sure you get to know people’ they will always offer you advice in officiating if you need it.
