John Bailey
Aged 18
My role in aquatics varies across many levels and sections.

I have been in the Swimming Development Team at Salford Community Leisure for the past 3 years under the guidance of John Stout. I was responsible for bringing talented swimmers from the successful Learn to Swim programme in Salford into the Competitive Training Scheme. I coached 2 groups, totalling around 75 swimmers.
Since 2009 I have been a volunteer for the Events Team at British Swimming and the ASA assisting to deliver National and International Aquatic Events in the UK. I started off announcing but soon moved to being Field of Play Manager, a role which I carried out at the British Gas Swimming Championships in 2011. Taken under the wing by British Swimming Presentation Director, Andrew Marvin, I have learnt the ropes in producing and directing and now head the role of Sports Presentation Manager for ASA events. In 2011 I took on this role at the 2 week long British Gas ASA National Age Groups and Youth Championships in Sheffield.
I am also the Competition Secretary at City of Salford Swimming Club sitting on the Executive Committee and produce around 8 meets per year in Salford.
I am currently studying BSc (Hons) TV Production at the University of Central Lancashire. I am also working with LOCOG for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
