I joined my first swimming club at the age of 6 and swam competitively from the age of 8.
I progressed up to National Level in the 200, 400, 800 and 1500 freestyle over a number of consecutive years training up to 21 hours a week. I study Biology at the University of Sheffield where I still compete with the University Swimming and Water Polo club and was named Sheffield University Sports Freshman of the year in 2011 due to my passion for the sport.
I am a qualified Level 2 swimming teacher and have been teaching swimming for the past 6 years. I have also coached voluntarily for my home swimming club, Hoylake ASC, for the past 5 years and my ultimate aim is to inspire more people to become involved in grass root level sport.
