Laura Bennett

I started swimming for Torridgeside Swimming Club, North Devon, at the age of four and have been swimming and coaching for the club ever since.

Laura BennettI swam competitively for the club up to western county level. I took over as head coach at 17, and am still in this position seven years later – the club is going from strength to strength.

I was also lucky enough to have the opportunity to carry the Olympic torch in 2012 through my home town of Torrington. I am a Level 2 qualified teach and coach, and in 2011 I set up my own swim school ‘Laura Bennett Academy of Swimming’ which has over 200 swimmers and has been running strong since. I enjoy helping others, as swimming is a huge passion of mine.
