Matthew Machin

I have been swimming since the age of four, competitively during my school and college years. Following on from my swimming background, I began to volunteer for Cheadle Swimming Club and helped in the Cheadle Little Otters swim school lessons.

Matthew MachinThis progressed to gaining my UKCC Level 1 teaching swimming qualification.  I started with one class and have since moved to teaching 60 children in eight lessons, three nights a week.

I gained a 2.1 honours in Business Management from Staffordshire University in 2012 and look to put the skills and leadership qualities learned into providing support for young aquatic leaders in the future through the ASA National Youth Forum.

My main objective is to encourage more children and adults to take up swimming for the health and social benefits that can be gained from this sport.
