Swimming has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, from learning to swim with my dad in the pool, to competing at national events it is something I really enjoy.
Although I do not train as much as I used to it is still a major part of my life, taking up even more time than before.
I took up coaching when I was 17 at a time when my club were struggling for coaches and I thought it was time to give something back. Since then I have learnt so much progressing through the teaching and coaching qualifications, along with the opportunities I have had at events and camps and working alongside some truly brilliant coaches.
I am now the Head Coach of my local swimming club and coach the local squad. Since getting the new pool in Wigan I have been actively involved in the organising and running of many galas and open events. I am currently a Computer Engineering student in Liverpool and because of this I have taken a keen interest in swimming related technology; from making my own underwater filming system to track swimmers, dealing with timing systems and scoreboards, designing and making online membership systems.
