Dailley and Retson destroy British records on day four

Sam Dailley and Ryan Retson smashed two 13 Yrs British Age Group records on the penultimate night of the 2014 British Gas ASA National Age Group Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Plymouth Leander swimmer Dailley used his size 12 feet to propel him to 100m Butterfly gold in 58.08 while F.I.R.S.T swimmer Ryan Retson, who ducked under the two minute mark for the first time in the heats, set a new 200m Freestyle marker of 1:57.63.

Hamilton UAE’s male swimmers hit top form on day four with Sean McNicholl helping himself to double gold in the 11/12 Yrs Age Group and Jakub Karl doing the same in the 14 Yrs Age Group, while Cameron Matthews added a fifth for the club in the 13 Yrs 100m Breast.

Among the girls’ winners was City of Leeds birthday girl Layla Black, who celebrated turning 14 by winning the 100m Breaststroke title while Stockport Metro won the 4x200m Freestyle Relay title to close the session.
