The George Fryer Memorial Trophy is awarded to the fastest female senior swimmer in the 100m Breaststroke at the ASA National Championships.

History of the George Fryer Memorial Trophy

Heston SC in West London had a leading club team in the 1950s and 1960s with the most notable swimmer being Margaret Edwards, backstroke world record holder and 1956 Olympic bronze medallist.

The club’s long standing coach was George Fryer who coached several other British internationals during this period as well as noted ASA women’s freestyle teams.
