Calum Jarvis completes golden hat-trick on day four

Bath University’s Calum Jarvis added a third individual gold medal to his tally on the final day of the ASA National Winter Meet 2016.

Having already won gold over 100m Butterfly and 100m Freestyle, the Welsh swimmer added a third title in the 200m Free.

The final was anyone’s race up until the last 25m, but Jarvis had a little more left in the tank. He touched in 1:44.96 to take the victory.

Jarvis said: “I knew it was going to be very close before diving in. Luckily I had enough left to get me to the end. I had the expectation to come here and do well, but to take four gold medals is great.”

Double gold medallist Max Litchfield was second to the wall. The Sheffield swimmer, who had already won the 200m and 400m IM double at Ponds Forge, touched in 1:45.16. Bath’s Jay Lelliott was just a fingertip behind, touching in 1:45.19 for bronze.

Rudin commented: “I’m really happy with the gold medal. I’ve not had a PB in a while in the IM, so it’s nice to finally be back where I should be.

“It’s really nice to compete in Sheffield. We have good facilities here and with the team behind you, if you’re having a bad day, they just pick you right back up. ”

Second place went to her team mate Amber Keegan in 4:35.89 and bronze to Candice Hall of Loughborough Uni for her time of 4:38.61.
