The Jeans Trophy is awarded to the fastest female senior swimmer in the 100m Backstroke at the ASA National Championships.

History of the Jeans Trophy

Constance ‘Connie’ James was a member of Nottingham SC and won 4x100m Freestyle Relay silver medals at both the 1920 and the 1924 Olympic Games.

During the First World War she was instrumental, along with her sister, on putting on swimming galas and water polo matches to entertain the wounded troops, which often finished with tea at the school which was opposite the pool.
