The Ken Martin Trophy is awarded to the fastest male junior swimmer in the 200m Individual Medley at the ASA National Championships.
History of the Ken Martin Trophy
Ken Martin was a keen swimmer from Nottingham who went on to become ASA Midland Treasurer from 1935 to 1954 and then the Midland Secretary from 1955 to 1959.
He became president of the ASA in 1957 and was awarded an MBE for services to swimming.
Martin is also known for being the author of the Ken Martin Report, which set about modernising our sport following the Second World War. Copies of this reports (swimming, water polo, synchronised swimming and diving) can be found in the ASA Library.
