What can you do swimming for at least 30 minutes a week? Well, reducing your body fat, lowering your risk of cancer and improving mental well-being are just three. Read on to learn more.

Why you need to become a 30 Minute Convert

Swimming at least 30 minutes each week offers you a host of health benefits. For example, take 30 and burn 200. Swimming for just 30 minutes burns between 200 - 350 calories. And that is not all.

Getting your heart pumping with half an hour of swimming every week lowers blood pressure, prevents osteoporosis, increases well-being and can even reduce your risk of cancer when followed by a post-pool intake of protein. Wow, so what can I do to benefit?

Ok, well first you can make sure you do at least 30 minutes swimming in one visit a week. A few ideas could be:

  • Swimfit Activate. Swim from 4 lengths to 40 at your own pace. Just remember to do 30 minutes.
  • Take on a Swimfit Challenge. Gradually swim Great Britiain's rivers, 30 minutes at a time. Or set yourself a distance and complete it half an hour at a time.
  • Just find your local pool and swim. It only takes 30 minutes a week. Discover the new you.
