Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Big Splash Intensive Swim Courses at Downham Health and Leisure Centre

Downham Health and Leisure Centre in Bromley, Kent will be running Big Splash Intensive Swimming Courses throughout October Half Term.

The courses, aimed at children over the age of three years old, will provide an opportunity for the youngsters to improve their swimming skills and water confidence alongside children of their own age.

The sessions will take place at the following times, from Monday 24 – Friday 28 October:

10:30am Pre-school (age 3-5)

11:00am Stage 1 (age 5+)

11:30am Stage 2

The courses are part of the Big Splash, an initiative by British Swimming and the BBC which aims to encourage people from across the UK to take to the water. Further information can be found here.  

To book your child on to one of the Big Splash Intensive Swimming Courses, drop in to the reception at Downham Health and Leisure Centre or call 02084 619 200.

As an added incentive, anyone who quotes Big Splash when booking onto the swimming lessons will receive a free rucksack!
